Bakerbots

Bakerbots is just eight weeks old and only open on weekends and evenings, but it has already earned a reputation for some of the best ice cream sandwiches around. It" is Bakerbots' assortment of cupcakes, cookies, cakes and macarons, mostly sold on weekends but with the odd little batch available during the week. The shop is open just between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday, primarily to sell ice cream treats.Bakerbots' chalkboard menu has suggestions for ice cream/cookie combinations, so I take its advice and opt for an Everything cookie with Burnt Marshmallow ice cream. The cookie looks pretty big, so I opt for a half sandwich ($3.50) instead of a whole ($5.50).

 Bakerbots is open Tuesday-Thursday: 6-10pm, Friday: 4-11pm, Saturday 11am-11pm, Sunday 11am-8pm

The Best Custom Cake

The best custom and wedding cakes in Toronto look far too good to eat. While layers of delicious cake and buttercream are just waiting for consumption below that surface of fondant or extra buttercream, it seems almost a shame to dissect what otherwise would be considered a work of art. The bakeries on this list combine their winning cake recipes with creative structural ingenuity (yet, for some reason, mainstream architects get all the glory), producing celebration centerpieces that will certainly get guests talking.

The Worst Foods For Your Skin

We never stop battling with our skin. Just as it seems we've finally conquered acne, it's already time to fight fine lines and wrinkles. And all the while we're navigating SPF and vitamin D -- skin care is certainly tricker than those face wash commercials would have us believe.
Try as we might to find the perfect product for our own unique combination of problematic skin, it turns out wemay want to approach skin care from the inside out.
Yes, what you eat -- and drink -- can keep your exterior in excellent condition. There are foods to keep skin hydrated and soft and foods that protect skin cells from damage (i.e. wrinkles). And there are even foods that might hurt our skin.
 like SALT

Too much salt can cause some of us to retain water, which can lead to swelling

SHRIMP

Shrimp, crab, lobster -- and also certain leafy greens like seaweed and spinach -- are naturally high in iodine, and a diet with too much of this element can lead to acne

PASTA

Pastas and cakes, and even corn syrup, are best avoided for dewy skin (and maybe even for maintaining weight loss). Foods that are considered high glycemic can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar. A small Australian study from 2007 found that eating a low-glycemic diet reduced acne in young men. But Schultz says there will need to be more research before we truly understand the relationship.

However, if
glycemic index does prove to be related to skin problems, and you find yourself breaking out after eating something like French fries, it may be due to the starchy insides rather than that greasy, golden exterior, according to YouBeauty.com.
